Hi! My name is Jenny Mathiasson and I’m an objects conservator based in west Wales. I started Kuriosa Conservation in 2020 and my little studio is located in the heart of Carmarthen.
My love of old things started in Sweden and has taken me all over the UK over the past 15 years. I have a background in heritage management from Bournemouth University as well as a conservation degree from Cardiff University.
I’ve been a qualified conservator for 10 years and I’ve worked for and with all sorts of people and organisations: University of Cambridge Museums, Rotherham Heritage Services, Two Temple Place, The McManus, Manchester Museum, Barnsley Museums, the Cooper Gallery, Kirklees Museums and Galleries, Rhondda Heritage Park, Craven District Council, Wakefield Museum, Eton College Collections, Museums Sheffield, British Red Cross, archaeological units, parish churches, theatre companies, as well as private collectors, artists, and heritage enthusiasts.
I regularly work with fellow freelancers in the culture sector to help make wonderful things happen: get in touch if you’d like to work together.
When I’m not at my workbench you can find me crafting or creating something, or in my podcast studio producing The C Word: The Conservators’ Podcast.
